Relaxing Classical

Here is something for your Sabbath. May your week be blessed, and filled with peace, love, joy and light.

I hope mine is, too--it is shaping up to be pretty hairy, so I need to remember to focus on the little beauties around me--like breathing, and smelling how wondeful it smells outside and how good my fresh homemade bread tastes--and how loved I am.

Wishing you were here songs

Sometimes, the songs you need aren't for when your heart is broken--just lonely. It makes me think of my friend Andy in college. He had a mix tape called "Depressing 1" (there was eventually a "Depressing 2", just in case you were wondering!) When I asked him why a tape of FABULOUS love songs would be called that, he said "because listening to romantic couple songs on your own sucks!" Which is true. So for when your honey is out of town (or hasn't come onto the scene yet!)-- here is the list for you!

Listen to Jesse Songs

When I was a little girl, my grandma's best friend was a woman named Jessie. Ever since then I have loved the name, and all of the Jess(i)es I have known have been nice, interesting people. Also, there are a surprising number of songs about Jess(i)es. Just take a listen:

Also, there is a GREAT Jesse song, written by Janis Ian, (recorded by several people, but my favorite is Joan Baez)--it isn't available on playlist.com, but you can (and should) look it up on youtube. It breaks my heart so beautifully and exquisitely.

The best perfume

Last night, when I got home at 9:30, I stepped out of the car, and it smelled WONDERFUL outside. It smelled warm, and fresh and springlike. AAAAHH!

It was almost 60 degrees yesterday, and the only snow that is left is the huge stacks from plowing, and they get shorter by the minute!

I am having some bad car karma (I am not sure what I have done for karma to bite me like this!)--SmallGirl has lost the only key to the BoringMobile (my boring gray minivan, which I love in spite of it's terminal dullness!). It is the computer coded kind of key, too. Sigh.

So, I had to dig out the emergency backup car (literally dig it out of the snowbank where it spent the winter!) and take it into town, where it proceeded to blow a belt and lose power steering! Fortunately, I was almost to the church, and we have some extremely competent, good men who gave up their evening to fix it for me!

So, today, I am cleaning EVERY NOOK AND CRANNY in this house, and not going anywhere! If you could send a prayer my way, I would appreciate it--I know the keys have to be somewhere in this house--but SG has lost lots of things irretrievably before!

Day Two

Here is a little SPACE MUSIC for you! I hate to admit how much I love most of these cheesy songs!

Music

I am, by nature, a list maker. I especially love to make lists of music of similar types (the right music for breaking up, moving, chess championships, whatever!) So, for the next week, each day, I am posting a playlist with a particular theme. Just for fun. No, there is no particular significance, except they come together in my head.

You are welcome to leave comments and suggestions if I have missed any songs that fit the theme. Who knows, I may just add them (or maybe I left it off because that particular song gives me hives and stomach cramps?).

I am leaving my main playlist up in the sidebar--it has lots of lovely music. The theme lists are much shorter (4 to 10 songs, usually).

And so, today's entry is "Lady"

Enjoy!

A Little Poem...

especially for my cold blooded friends (this means you, Dad and Miss K!).

It’s winter in Ohio
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At thirty five below

Oh, how I love Ohio
When the snow’s up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I’ll hang around
I could never leave Ohio
Cuz I’m frozen to the ground!

I didn't write it--it was in our Spinner's and Weaver's Guild Newsletter, and they got it from another guild, but it pretty well sums it all up!

Still having computer issues, hope to resolve them soon (quick, before I lose what little brain I have left!).
